Good day everyone,
Our grade 3 & 6 students will be writing the Provincial Reading & Mathematics Assessment on Thursday, June 5th.
We will be having pizza for lunch on Friday, June 6th compliments of our MHA The Honorable Sherry Gambin Walsh
Our Spring Concert will be on Thursday, June 12th at 1pm. Parents and guests will enter at 12:40pm so we can start on time. The concert should be about an hour long. Concert will be over around 2pm. Students will be returning instruments and going back to class after the concert. If you wish to pick up your child early, please come to the office to sign them out.
Admission is $5. Money raised will be used toward our outdoor place areas and other school resources.
Our Volunteer Appreciation Treat Extravaganza will take place prior to the concert at 12:30 on June 12 in the lunchroom. Volunteers will then be guests of the Spring Concert
There will be a hash browns, sausage and pancakes lunch on Friday, June 13th.
We will be having a walkathon on Tuesday, June 17th to raise money for our year end field trip. Buses are expensive and we want to cover as much as possible. Sponsor sheets will go home on June 6th. The class that brings in the most sponsors will win a pizza party.
The Grade 6 Farewell will be Wednesday, June 18th @ 1:15pm
Our Kindergarten celebration will be on Thursday, June 19th at 1:15pm.
We will be having a Professional Development day on Friday, June 20th. There will be no school for students on this day.
School Funday will be on Monday, June 23rd, weather permitted. We will be having hot dogs for lunch.
Our School Field Trip to the Avalon Mall to see a movie with popcorn & drink will be Tuesday, June 24th. Cost and permission slips will come at a later date.
Congratulations to Grade Six student Robyn Anderson who won 1st place and Grade 5 student Phillip Tica who placed 3rd at the Lions regional speak off on Friday, May 23rd. The schools that participated were Whitbourne Elem, Woodland Elem, Holy Family and Acreman Elem. Special Thank you to The Whitbourne Lions for their continuous support and prizes and congratulations to all the participants and the donation of $1176 to help with our badminton & volleyball equipment.
Special Thanks to parents for their recycling. We raised over $400, which means mmsb will match giving the school $800 towards our outdoor play area.
Our last day of school is Thursday, June 26th. School will dismiss at 12:30. Report Cards and Supply Lists will be going home at that time.

Parking Lot and Safe and Caring School Policy
Please be extra careful in the pickup line. If you are dropping your child off in the morning, please let them out at the door without parking. In the afternoon, students will be dismissed through the main school entrance. Thank you for your cooperation in keeping our students safe.
Breakfast Program/Recess/Lunch
We will be offering grab and go types of breakfast items starting on Sept 9th. Please make sure your children have a packed recess and lunch and to include a spoon/fork if needed. There will be no heatups for the time being.
Heatups will be available once we get our volunteers in place. A synervoice message will be sent home at that time.
Volunteers
Our programs are dependent on our volunteers, if you are interested in volunteering please fill out the form that is with the student forms.
Bussing
This year we have 2 buses. You will find a copy of the bus route on the school website. Bus students will be expected to be at the bus stop five minutes prior to pick up. The bus will not be able to wait for students that are not at the stops..
